By Celestine Ihejirika, Jalingo

A former acting Governor of Taraba State, Senator Sani Danladi Abubakar has appealed to youths in the state to shun the temptation of joining the planned nationwide protest as those behind it are faceless.

Danladi who was speaking against the backdrop of the proposed August 1st- 10th protest in Jalingo, said protest at this moment has the tendency to escalate crisis in the country since those behind it are faceless individuals whose identities remain unknown.

Danladi urged Taraba people to pray for the peace of the nation and administration of Governor Agbu Kefas in the state whom he commended for pro-active and development of the state.

In a similar development, a former Governor of Taraba State, Rev. Jolly Nyame, has called on the planners of the nation-wide protest to shelve their agitation.

Nyame, who made the call during a world press conference in Jalingo on Sunday, said the people of Yorro Nation have no time to waste in a national protest that can only promote destruction, anarchy and loss of lives.

The former Governor who was accompanied by youths and elders of Yorro Nation in both Adamawa and Taraba states said the negative impact of the protest is likely to outweigh any potential benefits.

Nyame who admitted that there is hunger in the land said no amount of protest would address the situation, maintaining that the action can only endanger the lives of thousands of Nigerians.
