Gombe Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya with his classmates, friends and associates

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya Monday evening hosted his former classmates, friends and associates to a Ramadan Iftar at the banquet hall of the Government, House in Gombe.
Speaking during the event, Governor Inuwa acknowledged the steadfastness and support of his friends towards the smooth sailing of his administration, which he said often give him the strength and encouragement to keep breaking new frontiers in the development of the State.
The Governor equally thanked the people of the State for their support and understanding without which his administration would not have achieved the successes so far recorded.
He said that every efforts initiated by his administration are geared towards the betterment and wellbeing of the people of the State, describing Gombe as an emerging economic powerhouse in the country.
Inuwa Yahaya noted that in spite of the challenges posed by the covid-19 Pandemic and its attendant effects on the economy as well as other hiccups, his administration remains afloat due to the support and cooperation of the people of the State, particularly his friends and associates.
“If we come together and contribute our quota to the development of the State, then nothing will be impossible for us to achieve and God will surely see us through”.
The Governor thanked his class mates, friends and associates for honouring his invitation for the Iftar, describing the reunion as nostalgic.
Earlier speaking, the Federal Commissioner, representing Gombe State in the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Mohammed Kabir Usman kukandaka said in spite of the low statutory allocation of Gombe from the Federation account, the State under the leadership of Governor Inuwa Yahaya has continued to blaze the trail in terms of social, economic and infrastructural development.
Kabir Kukandaka maintained that within 3 years of his stewardship, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has demonstrated capacity and recorded tremendous achievements which place Gombe State on the pedestal of sustainable development, calling on the people of the State to rally round the Governor and renew his mandate for another four years.
Mahmood Ibrahim Bello, who spoke on behalf of the Governor’s former classmates, described him as a visionary, futuristic and cosmopolitan leader who will stop at nothing in turning around the fortunes of the State.
He recalled with ecstasy how the Governor was able to put machinery in motion for the establishment of the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial park, describing the initiative as a socio-economic and political masterstroke.
“I can tell you that with this Industrial park, many of our young people will be gainfully employed and their livelihood will change for the better; so we thank the Governor for this incredible foresight and we are very proud of his accomplishments”.
The event was attended by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, Chief of Staff Abubakar Inuwa Kari and other top Government functionaries as contained in a statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General, (Press Affairs), Government House, Gombe.
