Gombe launches 10 years development plan, unveils working document

Gombe State Government has launched a 10-year Development Plan as well as unveiled the working document of action to achieving the plan with the aim of making the state one of the most developed and self sustaining in the country. 
While officially launching the plan and unveiling the document in Gombe on Tuesday, State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya stated that the development plan was designed through the effective participation of the people of the state on how they want the state to be in the next 10 years. 
The Governor added that the working document will serve as a guide that will lead to the development of every sector of the state particularly in the area of human and capital development with focus on economic growth and development. 
While recounting the various achievements recorded by the APC led administration within the last 2 years in the area of infrastructure development and economic growth, he assured that his administration is determined to move the state to greater heights. 
Inuwa Yahaya assured that, youth and women empowerment will be promoted during the implementation of the development plan because according to him, those groups are very essential to the development plan. 
He then assured that the working document will be presented to the State House of Assembly for passing into law so that successive administration will not go outside of it in the development drive. 
In her remarks, Deputy Secretary General of the UN, Amina Mohammed commended the State Government for having the initiative in developing the plan and formating a working document saying that it will move the state above others if well implemented as contained in the document. 
The UNFPA in a goodwill message commended the state for coming up with such a program assuring that the organization will be ready to support the state in the implementation of the plan. 
Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami in his own goodwill message stressed the need for planning for effective development stressing that without planning no meaningful development can take place. 
Ali Pantami assured that his Ministry is ready to support the state in achieving the development plan using digital technology and other means calling on other states to emulate Gombe state by coming up with development plans as used to be the practice in the past. 
Minister of State for Finance and Economic Planning, in his own goodwill said that development plan is the most important thing to do in order to be able to provide the needed governance. 
He stressed that the Era of development plans has been revived by the President Muhammadu Buhari led APC Federal Government saying that all the ongoing projects and programs across the country are based on the development planning put in place by the administration.
