Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas has constituted a 14-member Task Force Committee on the suspension of mining in the state.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Yusuf Sanda says it is headed by Brigadier-General Jeremiah Aliyu Faransa (rtd) while Major Ishaq Soje Mafindi is the Vice Chairman.
Other members of the Committee are Lcpl Akpana Godwin, Private Ofoli Eket from the Army, ASP Adamu Danya, Abdul Direba from the Police, Supt. Haruna Yahya, ASCI Bello Danjuma Yusuf and ASCII from the NDCDC.
Other members are DS Useni, AA, Girgi and HN Vanaruwa from the DSS.
The 14-man Task Force Committee Will be inaugurated on Friday, June 30, 2023 by 3 pm at the Government House, Jalingo.
It could be recalled that recently Governor Kefas banned all forms of mining activities in Taraba State with stunch warning to deal ruthlessly with anyone violating the Order and promised to collaborate with Security operatives in enforcing the ban which is probably what precipitated the formation of an all round Security Taskforce Committee by the Governor.
