Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has described Governor Douye Diri’s completion of 24 road projects, totalling 1.475km, in Bayelsa State, which were inherited from previous governments, as hallmark of good governance.

He made this description in Yenagoa, capital of Bayelsa  State, in his capacity as vice chairman of governors’ forum in South South region of Nigeria, when he commissioned these projects to mark Diri’s 5th anniversary of governor.

According to him, Diri is a bold leader, and respected for his commitment to infrastructural development.

Otu said his counterpart was prioritizing continuity by completing projects inherited from previous administrations.

“Completing inherited projects is commendable; it reflects the essence of governance and continuity,” he remarked.

Otu noted that Bayelsa is witnessing significant infrastructural progress, including initiatives aimed at achieving a 24-hour power supply.

He urged Bayelsans to continue supporting their government to facilitate further development.

Speaking, Governor Diri highlighted the transformations which his administration’s projects across the state have brought.

“The inauguration of road infrastructure and other key projects is a major highlight of our fifth anniversary. The face of Yenagoa is changing for the better,” Diri stated.

He also acknowledged the Obenibe-Epie, King Malla Sasime, and the people of the area for maintaining peace, which enabled the successful execution of the project.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, Governor Diri also launched a statewide medical outreach program, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to healthcare and overall development.
