Governor Radda leads Katsina delegation on 5-day working visit to China

As part of his administration’s efforts to foster global partnerships, Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has embarked on a five-day official visit to the People’s Republic of China.
The Governor, accompanied by key government officials, will be in the country from August 18th to 23rd, 2024, to explore investment opportunities and strengthen bilateral relations.
The Katsina Governor was received at Daxing International Airport, Beijing, by Mr. William Lui, who will be hosting the delegation during their stay.
In Governor Radda’s company to the Asian giant are his Principal Private Secretary, Hon. Abdullahi A. Turaji; the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture & Livestock Development, Prof. Ahmed Mohammed Bakori; Honourable Commissioner for Trade, Commerce & Investment, Alhaji Adnan Na Habu; and the Lead Consultant, Mr. Haroun Abba Gana.
This was contained in a statement on Sunday by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
The delegation is scheduled to meet with Chinese government officials, potential investors, and various manufacturers of heavy-duty equipment and agricultural implements.
This visit is in line with the Katsina State Government’s commitment to fostering international partnerships and attracting investments to boost the state’s economic development.
Key areas of interest for the delegation include renewable energy, with a focus on solar panels, electric tricycles, and equipment assembly plants.
The itinerary includes visits to prominent Chinese companies such as Sinotruck International, Jinan Zhongnihaihe Imports and Exports Trading Co. Ltd., and the China Economic Development Centre in Shandong Province.
The statement stated the working visit marks Governor Radda’s first official assignment following his return from one-month constitutional leave, during which Deputy Governor Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe served in an acting capacity.
The Katsina State Government is optimistic that this visit will yield fruitful partnerships and investments that will contribute significantly to the state’s agricultural and industrial sectors, ultimately benefiting the people of Katsina State.
