Hardship: Nasarawa lawmaker distributes 400 bags of spaghetti to constituents

Aged women, men and including youths drawn across eight wards that constitutes Nasarawa Central State Constituency part home with bags of spaghetti, being a gesture from their representative , Honourable Hajara, Ibrahim Danyaro.

At the palace of the emir of Nasarawa on Monday, the state legislator distributed no fewer than Four Hundred (400) bags of spaghetti to help in cushioning the effect of hardship resulting from the global economic meltdown, which Nasarawa and Nigeria at large is not exempted.

Speaking to newsmen, Dr. Hajara Ibrahim appreciated God for enabling her to provide for those in need, saying; “this became pertinent for me as the people representative to ensure that their needs are met, which is not the cardinal objective of a lawmaker, but as a mother, I consider the wellbeing of my people as a priority especially in a period like this where prices of goods in the market are inflated”.

According to her, as the first woman from Nasarawa Western Senatorial District to be elected into the state assembly, she will ensure that there is a paradigm shift by bringing her motherly role to bear in order to add value to women and youths for economic development.

She added that the administration of Engineer Abdullahi Sule is the government that has laid much emphases on advancing development and security of citizens of the state. As such, she said there is the need for all and sundry to support the administration of Engineer Abdullahi Sule .

The lawmaker assured that there is much to be seen from her . She promised to connect all rural schools with solar power .

The Emir of Nasarawa Dr. Ibrahim Jibrin who personally graced the occasion thanked Allah for giving the lawmaker the heart to come to the aid of the people in her few months in the state assembly.

“We are in a time where prices of food items and other consumables have skyrocketed at an unprecedented proportion. But with this kind of gesture from our member , honourable Hajara Danyaro, burdens become much more easier. I want to appeal to all well to do members of Nasarawa town and Nasarawa state as a whole to emulate her exemplary leadership,” the emir said.

Commending the effort of the lawmaker, Okpoku Okpoku, former member that represented Nasarawa/Udege state constituency, said he is optimistic that honourable Danyaro will deliver.

“I am proud of her, knowing her capacity and pedigree. I urged her constituents to continue to support her for more dividend of democracy . I am also very sure that she will make remarkable difference as the first female lawmaker from Nasarawa western senatorial zone and the second woman to be elected into the Nasarawa state house of assembly since 1999.The first was Mary Owugulo, therefore I encourage her to continue to work hard even though the primary assignment of a legislator is make laws that will help fast track development” Okpoku added.
