The wife of an Appeal Court judge, Mrs Ignatius Agube has now been released early Saturday morning following payment of heavy ransom.
She was held in the abductors’ den for nearly three weeks while negotiation ensued.
She was whisked away from her shop in Ekorinim area of Calabar by the hoodlums.
But her personal assistant, Glory Akpama who tried to prevent her abduction was not lucky as she was killed.
Payments for her release was reportedly done at the creeks of Akpabuyo Local Government Area of Cross River State
Security operatives have reportedly picked up up a number of the kidnap gang. Public Relations Officer at the Cross River state command, DSP Irene Ugbo confirmed the development.
Dependable sources have reliably informed that Mrs. Agube arrived home safely this morning, and signs of trauma were visible over her.
The sources also hinted that, at least, N4.8million was paid to the kidnappers at Akpabuyo creeks last week, while another undisclosed amount was also paid before her eventual release.
