Idemili LG chair lauds Ezeonu, business tycoon for providing community with road, other orojects

The Transition Committee chairman of Idemili Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon. Amaka Obi, is among prominent stakeholders in the Local Government who have poured encomium on business mogul, High Chief Hamilton Ezeonu, for his commitment to develop his Nnobi community.

The chairman spoke when Governor Chukwuma Soludo led his team of State Government officials to commision one km road built by Chief Ezeonu for Awuda village in Nnobi.

Mrs. Obi said she was elated that the business man agreed to her request that he should construct the once dilipidated and almost impassable road which has culminated in the commissioning of the road.

The Local Government boss said in addition to the road, Chief Ezeonu who is the Ikemba Nnobi, sunk three boreholes in the community to provide clean drinking water to the villagers which the Governor equally commissioned.

But beyond these projects, said Mrs Obi, Chief Ezeonu renovated the Nnobi General hospital, reroofed it, built the doctor’s quarter and security house.
Chief Ezeonu also built security tower at Nnobi Police Station.

The businessman, she said, equally provided crash helmets and reflective jackets to about 500 Okada riders in the community to protect them from accident.

Ikemba’s wife, Thelma, who is a medical doctor is not also left out in the philanthropic gesture as she has empowered many women and youth, including empowerment for the widows, providing women with fufu processing machines, grinding machines and medical outreach for eye treatment and other health related issues.

Chief Ezeonu assured that there would be more projects in the community as these ones are just about five percent of the projects being planned for the community.

He said he would bring home about 50 wealthy Nnobi persons in June 2025 to brainstorm on how they would develop the community,
