INEC distributes sensitive bye, rerun election materials in Kebbi

The Independent National Election Commission office in Kebbi State has on Thursday distributed sensitive election materials for bye election in Yauri-Shanga-Ngaski Federal Constituency and court order rerun in Arewa-Dandi Federal Constituency scheduled for 3rd February.
Electoral officers in charge of the affected Five Local Government Areas collected the materials at INEC Headquarters in Birnin Kebbi under the watch of security personnel, observers and leaders of participating political parties and were directed to move them to their respective polling units in due courses.
Addressing the gathering, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Abubakar Sarkin Pawa Dembo said the Commission was fully prepared for the conduct of the elections alas demostrated by the early distribution of sensitive and nonsensitive election materials on schedule to ensure free, fair and credible polls.
Dembo expressed satisfaction with the support and cooperation he enjoined from the people of the state especially the security agents and journalists and urged them to secure the electioneering process from start to finish through impartial discharge of their duties.
While speaking to journalists, the Special Adviser to Kebbi State Governor on Political Affairs and Power, Kabiru Sani Giant, said they were satisfied with how INEC presented the materials to the gathering sealed and transparently distributed to the Electoral Officers.
Also speaking, Aliyu Musa of the PDP, said with what happened during the distribution of materials, the Party had confidence that the Commission would be fair to all political parties during the February 3rd polls.
