In celebration of this year’s International Day of the Girl Child, themed “Girl’s vision for the future” the Kairos Initiative successfully organized a two-day empowerment event for young girls, sponsored by Tri4Life UK.
On the first day of the activities, there was a Girls’ Day Hangout at the BOI-ATBU Innovative Hub.
The festivities commenced at the BOI-ATBU Innovative Hub, where students from International Secondary School and Harmony High School gathered for an inspiring day of learning and engagement.
The day featured a guided tour of the hub by Usman Ilyas, the Innovative Manager, who introduced the girls to various opportunities available to them as they progressed in life.
Highlighting the importance of understanding their rights, human rights activist, Yachit Dala led an enlightening session, while Barrister Byenchit Gomwam addressed the challenges girls face in society today.
The event provided a supportive platform for the girls to openly discuss their experiences and concerns, fostering a sense of community and empowerment.
The second day was an outing to ZIZA SPA and Emerald Fashion House which was an inspiring outing aimed at broadening the girls’ perspectives on personal and professional growth.
At Ziza Spa, CEO, Mrs. Christabel Nuhu shared her remarkable journey from humble beginnings to entrepreneurship, emphasizing the message that girls are unstoppable.
Her empowering words encouraged the girls to embrace self-reliance and pursue their aspirations without dependency.
The event left participants feeling uplifted and motivated, with many expressing gratitude for the invaluable experiences provided by the Kairos Initiative.
The Kairos Initiative’s celebration of the International Day of the Girl Child served as a powerful reminder of the importance of investing in girls’ rights and empowerment.
Through engaging activities and inspiring talks, the initiative is paving the way for young girls to realize their potential and strive for a brighter future.
