Katsina Governor Radda praises Tukur Ruma foresight on students scholarship

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, attend empowerment initiative and Ramadan package donated by the Member of the State House of Assembly representing Batsari, Hon. Mustapha Tukur Ruma.
The event, held at the Batsari Local Council Secretariat, featured the award of scholarships to 101 indigent students from the area to pursue degree programs.
Speaking at the occasion, Governor Radda described the legislator’s foresight as being noteworthy, particularly his commitment to sponsoring underprivileged students through higher education.
This was contained in a statement by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Katsina.
“I appreciate the foresight of the legislator particularly in his resolve to sponsor the indigent students of the area up to degree level,” said Governor Radda.
“The education to be acquired by the students would impact positively in their lives and to the people of their respective community,” the Governor added.
Addressing the empowerment and Ramadan package components of the program, the Governor emphasized their timeliness, “The gesture is very vital at the current period of Ramadan. I want to remind our political leaders that they will surely reap whatever investment made in the near future,” the Governor stated.
The Governor also encouraged residents of Batsari to remain steadfast in their prayers leading to the gradual return of peace in the area.
In his remarks, Hon. Mustapha Tukur Muazu, the lawmaker representing Batsari, detailed the extensive empowerment package which includes “cash support amounting to over three point two-nine million naira to critical stakeholders, a brand new luxury car, and three hundred thousand naira to the youths.”
“One bag of rice to each of the village heads in the area, three grinding machines to three identified most vulnerable and eight hundred and thirty thousand naira to eighty-one imams of Jumaat mosques” were also provided as part of the initiative, Muazu explained.
The legislator emphasized that “one hundred and one students identified were selected for full sponsorship to university level as part of his empowerment.”
In the same vein, the State Auditor of the APC, Alhaji Mamman Yaro, and the Chairman of Stakeholders in the area, Alhaji Bello Kantin Sauki, praised Governor Radda for “his commitments in repositioning the state to greatness.”
Alhaji Mamman Yaro also appealed to “the state government to rehabilitate the road started from Batsari to Safana which is now in deplorable condition.”
In appreciation of the Governor’s commitment to service delivery, the Chairman-elect of Batsari Local Government Area, Alhaji Mannir Muaazu Ruma, presented a bull, horse, and ram to Governor Radda on behalf of the people of the area.
The event had in attendance, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji AbdulKadir Mamman Nasir; Members of the State Assembly and other top government functionaries.
