Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku

Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba state has revealed that kidnappers and bandits now took advantage of the Tiv/Jukun crisis to cause mayhem on the people.
Ishaku, who stated this while answering questions from newsmen on the Tiv/Jukun crisis after casting his vote in the local government elections in his home local government, Takum said that the state government and security agents are on top of the situation.
“What is happening now is not Tiv/Jukun crisis but act of criminality where kidnappers and bandits steal and kidnap people”Ishaku said.
Governor Ishaku stated that the crisis was unfortunate and the government has done it’s best to control the situation.
“I met the situation on ground and since l assumed office my focus has been on peace because without peace there would be no development” he said.
On why he did not visited Takum his home town for the past one and half years, Ishaku said he could not come to his home town because he was sick.
According to him, he is now at home because he has recovered and urged the people to stop celebrating when their leaders are sick.
“Nobody invite sickness and anybody can be sick therefore it is wrong and ungodly for people to celebrate when their leaders are sick” Ishaku said.
