The Director gave the advice when the campaign team of Abdullahi Dare Akogun visited the Unilorin FM chapel of the council to solicit for support ahead of the forthcoming elections.

Akogun who said elections especially among media professionals should not be seen as a do-or-die affair, but rather should be seen as an avenue where brilliant brains among the union showcase their ideological capability in moving the union forward.

Earlier in his remarks, the Unilorin FM General Manager, Alhaji Idris Alooma, commended Abdullahi Dare Akogun for ensuring that his campaign is issue-based, which shows the level of his maturity and readiness for the job at hand.

Earlier in his speech, the chairmanship hopeful, Dare Akogun, said that the campaign team is aware of the ongoing difficulty the Unilorin chapel is facing in its bid for the management to be deducting members’ check-off dues from source.

According to him “This is one of the challenges that is causing check-off dues’ pile up, which in turn becomes a serious burden on the individual members like we are currently experiencing.

” So, by the grace of God and with your massive votes for us on July 10th, once we get into office, we will device a workable means of interfacing with your Bursary Department to facilitate a seamless process by which members’ checkoff dues would be deducted without any hassles, he added.
