Lagos handball boss confident of teams performance in national championships

Chairperson of Lagos State Handball Association (LSHA), Adeola Opeifa says the association will present four teams in the forthcoming U-18/U-21 National Male and Female Championships which kicks off this weekend.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Championships, which holds in Rowe Park, Yaba, Lagos, from March 16 to March 24 is  being organised by Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN).
Opeifa said that his boys and girls teams would feature in the U-18, while the male and female would be equally represented in the U-21 category.
“This is a major championships that we always look forward to because it creates a good ground and opportunity for our players to compete with their peers and teams.
“Our technical crew has been working hard on the players which have produced formidable teams that will represent us in the slated categories in the championships,” she said.
She expressed confidence that the teams representing the state would stand out in their categories as the players in the teams were selected on competence and determination.
According to her, the teams have been pulling its weight in previous editions of the annual championships and are still determined and battle ready to compete with visiting teams.
NAN reports that the Championships is an annual competition organised by HFN to promote the sport and identify young talents for international cadet and junior tournaments. (NAN)
