Late Michael
The family of late Michael Bamisaye, who committed suicide in Ekiti State, has said they should be left alone to mourn him and that the death has nothing to do with politics.
Bamisaye, the Director of Finance, Ise/Orun Local Government Council reportedly jumped into a well in his residence behind Tinuola Maximum Schools, off Afao Road, Ado-Ekiti.
There have been unconfirmed reports that Bamisaye might have taken his life as a result of the July 14 governorship election victory by the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Dr Kayode Fayemi.
A statement signed by Mr Cosmas Bamisaye on behalf of the family stated that: “Our father and brother who has always been a role model in his commitment, dedication and discipline in the various aspects of his life has over-time seen himself as one who has failed, even though he has never failed.
“He left the family a note that is completely devoid of politics. He was not a politician but has always exercised his franchise as a good citizen,” Bamisaye said.
According to the statement, the family was unfounded with stories being peddled about the deceased had further aggravated their sorrows.
