Christians world over have been charged to exhibit the spirit of unconditional love among one another as they celebrate this year’s Easter Anniversary.

The Director, Connectional Ministries, United Methodist Church (UMC), Jalingo, Rev. Dr. Philip Micah Dopah gave the charge in Jalingo during his Easter message to Christians.

He equally condemned the killings of residents of Benue and Plateau States, describing the act as inhumanity to man.

The clergy who blamed the ugly situation on the current leaders wondered why the government should be more concerned about the deaths of 36 cows while over 100 of human lives were slaughtered and yet there was no action by President Bola Tinubu led administration.

Dr. Dopah who expressed dismay over the lukewarm attitude of present Nigerian leaders called on residents of Benue and Plateau states to intensify prayers against the enemies in the Lands.

He said President Tinubu should rise up to his responsibilities as leader and not tour the whole world when his country was on fire.

“I can’t understand a leader moving round the world when hundreds of its citizens are slaughtered on a daily basis, yet he was not touched on the blood flowing every day in his country,” he stated.

On the significance of Easter Celebration by Christians, Rev. Dopah who also doubles as Interim Secretary, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Taraba State Chapter expressed gratitude to God to witness yet another Easter.

According to him, Christians across the globe believed in the important event, considering the resurrection of Jesus Christ and his representation on earth.

Dr. Dopah emphasized that the identity of Christ reflects on love, peace, unity of mankind among others, stressing that forgiveness and salvation was key for Christ that signifies power over death.

Also on unconditional love, the clergy said Christians should always maintain righteous life and sanctification to one another were hope, encouragement should strive above other things to inherit eternal life.

He therefore called on politicians to take the interest of masses with the seriousness it deserves and prayed to God to grant believers the hope, gratitude, love and commitment to follow Christ.
