Morris assumes office as 32nd Adamawa new Police commissioner

Adamawa State Police Command receives CP Dankombo Morris as the 32nd Commissioner of Police deployed to the state. 

The new CP took over from CP Afolabi Babatola, who was recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) and redeployed to higher responsibility as AIG  in charge of zone 3 headquarters supervising Adamawa and Taraba states.

This was contained in a statement by the Command’s  Public Relations Officer SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje.

According to the statement, Dankombo hails from Kaltungo Local Government Area of Gombe State. He holds a BA (Hons) in History, from University of Maiduguri, Borno State and MA International Relations.

He enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in the year 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and rose through ranks.

Nguruje said, over the last three decades in the Force, CP Dankombo attended several tactical leadership courses  both within and outside the country these include Combat/Operational course (Mobile training camp, Gwoza), Citizenship and Leadership course (Sheri Hills, Jos, Plateau State), Advanced Detective Course (ADC Psc Jos 2001), Central planning and Training unit (CPTU, PSC JOS 2001).

He also attended Community Policing Developer course (Psc, Jos, 2005), Crime fighting Stimulation training exercises ( Armed force Stimulation center, Jaji, (2014), Strategic Leadership and Command Course (Psc Jos, 2017)

Dankambo is a passionate, versatile and experienced police administrator who has traversed the length and breadth of law enforcement and policing.

He has held several Command positions and carried out multiple tasks in his illustrious career. Some of which are, Patrol and Guard, Admin Officer and Divisional Crime officer in Bali Local Govenment Area, Taraba State.(1995- 1997)

Others include, Chief Superintendent of Police, Administration (CSP A, Bauchi Command), Divisional Police Officer, Bali, Taraba State, Hadejia, Jigawa State, Gamboru Ngala, Borno State and Owerri West Division, Imo State (2013- 2018), Directing Staff (PSC, Jos,) Area Commander, Birnin Gwari, Kaduna and Rano, Kano State (2018- 2019)

Before now, he was Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration and Operations Yola, Adamawa State.

The new CP has the requisite integrity, courage and experience to oversee the policing affairs in Adamawa State.

CP Morris is happily married and blessed with children.
