Mothers Summit: Mrs Osibanjo ask women to be alive to responsibilities

The wife of the Vice President Mrs Dolapa Osinbajo has charged women to be alive to their responsibilities.
She gave the charge in Awka, Anambra State during this year’s Mother’s Summit.
Mrs Osinbajo urged women not to lose focus on their roles in both the family and the larger society.
The wife of the Vice President also advised women to always monitor the kind of company their children keep in order not to bring shame to their various families.
She commended the wife of the state governor, Chief (Mrs.) Ebelechukwu Obiano for all her empowerment programmes aimed at making women in the state become self-reliant calling on her to sustain the tempo.
Contributing, the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Senator Aisha Alhassan, called for mutual support and self-confidence among women in nation-building.
Chief (Mrs.) Obiano who during the event distributed more empowerment equipment including gari graters and mashers, oil digesters and mashers among others to indigent women and urged women to see themselves as partners in nation building.
In a goodwill message, the Commissioner for Social Welfare, Women and Children Affairs, Mrs Ndidi Mezue, spoke on the growing recognition of untapped capacity and talents of women and the prospects of women’s leadership.
A guest speaker and the Training Coordinator, The Management House, Africa, Dr Ekpoto Emmanuel, who spoke on the theme of the event, “Sustaining women participation in politics: Prospects and challenges” said total freedom cannot be achieved if women are still relegated to the background of social and political affairs.
