Musa: Happy to score against Seychelles, 3 points for AFCON ticket
Ahmed Musa is happy to have scored a goal and led the Super Eagles to a win over Seychelles in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Victoria on Saturday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The win was Nigeria’s first in Group E after their 2-0 loss to South Africa in Uyo 14 months ago.
Musa got Nigeria off to a flying start scoring with stunning strike to hand Gernot Rohr’s men the lead after 15 minutes before strikes from Chidozie Awaziem and Odion Ighalo secured victory for the three time African champions.
Musa who joined Al-Nassr FC of Saudi Arabia this summer also admits that the win will boost Nigeria’s chances of qualifying for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
“Great team victory! Three points to help us qualify for the African Cup of Nations. Happy to get a goal. Up Eagles,” Musa tweeted on his Twitter handle with a video of his stunning goal in the encounter.
Nigeria will host Libya in their next 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in October. (Complete Sports)pp
