Mystery fire destroys 19 vehicles at Awada Obosi

A mystery fire outbreak has destroyed about nineteen vehicles parked in a mechanic workshop in Awada area of Obosi.
It was gathered that the incident happened at around 2 ‘o’clock in the morning.
The Police Public Relations Officer of Anambra State Police Command, Mr. Haruna Mohammed who spoke to the press said the mechanic workshop was located at Amanator Street, Awada.
He said that the nineteen vehicles parked at the workshop were affected some were completely burnt, while others were burnt partially.
Mr. Haruna said that the fire was eventually put off by the concerted efforts of residents of the area as Police patrol team attached to Awada Division rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area to prevent hoodlums from taking advantage of the situation to loot.
He noted that EEDC has been contacted to effect necessary repairs on the affected power line while the case is under investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The fire was reported to have affected a high tension pole that passes through that area, but no life was lost in the incident.
