Nasarawa assembly primaries: Jonah Ali emerges PDP candidate for Karu/Gitata Constituency

Honourable Jonah Ali Dizaho has been elected as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to contest for the Karu/Gitata State Constituency seat in the Nasarawa State Assembly elections in 2023.
Mr Francis Phillip, Returning Officer of the PDP State Assembly Primaries for the Constituency held in Karu local government area of the state on Sunday declared Jonah Ali winner of the primaries after collation of results.
Phillip said Ali polled 10 votes to defeat Mr Dantoro Ayuba who polled 5 votes and Mr Maikasuwa Musa who polled 3 votes.
He said total delegates for the primary election was 19 but 18 were accredited to vote with one delegate absent.
“The primary election was duly conducted and going by the simple majority rule, Mr Jonah Ali got the majority votes of 10 votes. Having scored the highest votes, he is hereby declared winner of the election,” he said.
In an interview with newsmen, Honourable Jonah Ali described his victory as a victory for all PDP stakeholders including those who contested against along with him.
“We all agreed that whatsoever will be the outcome of this primary election, we will all accept it in good faith and that is what happened. I appreciate my contenders because they shook hands with me and congratulated me.
“I am so happy with the kind minds they have and I believe that this kind of unity will spur us to victory come 2023. So I am highly excited and I give God the glory,” he said.
He expressed confidence in his capacity to defeat any contender for the Karu/Gitata seat at the state house of assembly at the general election in 2023.
