Nasarawa FA Chairman donates 20 jerseys to Nasarawa sports writers

The Chairman, Nasarawa State Football Association (FA), Mr. Salisu Usman-Galadima, has donated 20 jerseys to the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Nasarawa State Chapter.
Mr. Usman Galadima while presenting the 20 sets of Jerseys to the Nasarawa SWAN chairman, Mr. Smah George in his office in Lafia, the state capital, explained that the rationale behind the donation was targeted at strengthen the mutual relationship of the two associations that had been existing for a very long time in the state.
He further stated that the benevolence gesture was part of his support to the growth and development of the association as well as sports in the state and the country at large.
He added that the contributions and the the major role SWAN has been playing across the country and the world at large to the growth and development of sports motivated him to support the association.
His words, “The major role played by Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), particularly that of Nasarawa to the elevation of Nasarawa United Football Club from relegation to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NFPL), is not something that could be forgot in a hurry.
“We will not leave anyone out in our efforts to promote football in our state, so SWAN, as a critical stakeholder, we will continue to work together for the good of the game,” he added.
According to him, the gesture was to further boost the symbiotic relationship between both bodies.
Receiving the items, Mr. Smah George, appreciated the State FA leadership for the thoughtful gesture.
According to the state SWAN chairman, “Today marked a very great day for us, as we were here just less than a week ago.
“You assured us of a robust relationship and I am not surprised by your kind gesture, and I want to use this medium to reiterate our commitment to the SWAN/FA relationship.
“You have shown that, being a member of SWAN yourself, we will not be left behind in any of the FA activities.
“In the history of SWAN in Nasarawa State, we had not been able to get such support from anyone, but you gave us your full support. We want to thank you for demonstrating a high level of trust in us,” he said.
Mr. George alongside, Mr. Umar Muhammed (SWAN Vice Chairman), Esther Akaa (SWAN Treasurer), among other members of the association were in attendance when the jerseys were presented.
