Nasarawa State Governor, Al-Makura
The Nasarawa State Local Government election petition tribunal on Friday commenced sitting in Lafia, with six petitions on its list.
Speaking, the chairman, Mr Abundaga Habila, said five of the petitions were on councillorship election, while the remaining one was on chairmanship poll.
He explained that the petitions on counsellorship election were from Agyaragun, Tofa, Gayam, Adogi and Makama wards in Lafia Local Government Area of the state, while the one on chairmanship election emanated from Doma Local Government Area.
The chairman appealed for cooperation and calm to ensure speedy treatment of petitions.
Habila adjourned sitting till July 23, for continuation of hearing. (NAN)
