A leading Senate aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Nasarawa West Senatorial District said the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State has no project of its own executed under the present administration.
He said nothing can stop the PDP from winning all elections in next year’s polls.
The aspirant, Honourable Angama Wiegbe, a former commissioner in the state under the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC)-led administration of then Governor Tanko Almakura, blasted the APC under Governor Abdullahi Sule, saying apart from appointment of advisers who earn N250, 000, they can’t boost of physical human transformation of citizens of the state.
He made this statement recently in Keffi while addressing selected journalists over his desire to represent Nasarawa West Senatorial District.
He said there is nothing intimidating about what the APC may be claiming as achievements in the state stressing that the APC is lacking so many things when it comes to development in the state.
“Let’s be realistic. The projects that the APC and it administration in the state claim today are mostly PDP projects.
“You can’t claim to have achieve by painting completed projects in the name of completing it, like the Aliyu Akwe Doma Banquet Hall. If we are to go by that as achievement, what has the government done in terms of human development?  So, I do not see how the APC will stop the PDP from winning in 2023, if my party field in the right candidates,” he said.
Wiegbe, however, advised the PDP especially the delegates to consider the development of Nasarawa State first and not those who have money to buy votes.
He added that having served the state at various capacities and rising to become a commissioner, he has garnered more experience on how to administer the people, whose needs are to be considered first.
“You see, some politicians make a lot of mistakes when they are elected. But in my case, I will ensure that the needs of the electorates becomes my priority, because in the first place they are the ones that appointed me and so it is what they want that I should give them and not what I think,” he added.
Weigbe further said he intends to dwell more in youths unemployment, creation of jobs opportunities and attracting but foreign and federal institutions if elected as senator.
