Nasarawa stakeholders hail Supreme Court judgment, drum support for Governor Sule

Stakeholders in Nasarawa State have described the Supreme Court judgement that affirmed the reelection of Governor Abdullahi Sule as a victory for the democracy and the people of the state.
The stakeholders also sought for more support for the Governor in order to sustain good governance and engendering holistic development for the benefit of all in the state.
They said this while reacting to the Supreme Court Judgment in Lafia.
Barrister Yusuf Musa, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism said the victory was not only for Governor Sule and All Progressives Congress (APC) but for the people of Nasarawa State.
He said the victory was the confirmation of the mandate given to him by the people of the state who came out in large numbers and overwhelmingly voted him for the second tenure.
“The victory is well deserved because he won the election squarely, the victory is not to the advantage of Sule as a governor, advantage is to the people of the state.
“To say the least, Gov Sule come to lay a solid foundation for the state, so, is to the advantage of Nasarawa state to have Gov Sule for another four years to accomplish his developmental vision for the state.
“For instance, the chunk of 2024 budget had been allocated to education, infrastructural development and other social activities, this aim at sustaining ongoing revamping of education, civil service, health among others,” he said.
Musa said the governor had demonstrated commitment to revamping all sectors of economy and human capital development in the last four years.
The permanent Secretary further said that the gov. Sule had laid a solid foundation for the internally generated revenue where the state no longer depends on federal allocation to pay worker’s salaries.
Also reacting, Chief Douglas Otaru, Nasarawa State Publicity Secretary of APC said it was a victory for good governance, development and for peace loving people of Nasarawa state.
He said the victory had laid to rest the prolonged litigation and its attendance distractions, as APC led administration would focus on engendering good governance to bring meaningful development to the state.
“Gov Sule is somebody who has good managerial template, since there’s no distractions any longer, he will be focused more on thematic areas of development that have direct bearing on the lives of people.
On his part, Mohammed Wada – Yahaya, Managing Director, Nasarawa State Urban Development Board, said the victory came with joy, though highly expected, given the fact that he won the election by the majority of Nasarawa State.
“Everybody is happy with the judgement especially for the seek of peace as against violence, Gov Sule is a man of peace and integrity, and we believe that the state will continue develop with him at the helm of affairs,” he said.
