A frontline politician, Alhaji Isyaku Ibrahim has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) and Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, (ICPC) to immediately arrest and prosecute Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN) Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele and Managing Director of Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company, Alhaji Abbas Umar Masanawa for being public or civil servants and haven being participating in partisan politics.

He made the request in Abuja that “The actions of CBN Governor and of MD of NSPMC, who are civil servants, allegedly being All Progressives Congress, (APC) card carrying members and buying nomination forms to contest for President and Governor of Katsina State respectively is an anomaly to the Constitution, code of conduct of a civil servant and for people with conscience.

“In a serious democracy, the duo would have writen the government that they want to resign for the administration to get a suitable replacement, then resign before they contest for primary and later general elections.

“These people are taking the Nigerian public for granted, because it is alleged that the CBN is keeping safe custody of the sensitive voting materials which have been printed by NSPMC for the Independent National Electoral Commission, ( INEC ) for the oncoming general elections,” he said.

The elder statesman, who has been pre and post independence politician called on the two agencies and all relevant government agencies to stop this irregularities by civil servants with regards to the Constitution and general peace of the country’s political process.

According to him, democracy entails that an aspirant should abide by the political process, try to win the primary election, become a candidate and campaign for him to be elected to win and for his opposition candidate to lose if possible with a wide margin and not to circumvent the process without conscience.

Alhaji Ibrahim blames the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) for not having a good Intelligence network and media outreach to expose the weaknesses of the APC, CBN, NSPMC, civil servants and the failure of government agencies to arrest and prosecute actions of the duo amongst others which is an alleged sabotage against the country.
