Nigeria anti-drug enforcement agency gets new Commander in Plateau

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has appointed Mustapha Umar, as its new Commander in Plateau.Mr Simon-Peter Ikpa, a Superintendent of Narcotics (SN) and Public Affairs Officer of the command disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Jos.

Ikpa said that Umar, a Commander of Narcotics (CN) has replaced Mr Ibrahim Braji, who had been deployed to another area of assignment.

The public affairs officer further disclosed that the new commander, who assumed office on Monday, promised to rid off drug trafficking and abuse in the state.

The new commander also called on officers and men of the command to accord him the support and cooperation they accorded his predecessor in order to succeed.Umar also called on the state government and other security agencies to support the NDLEA in its bid to curb consumption and trafficking in illicit substances in the society.

He also warned drug barons in the state to move to another location, saying that he would do everything possible to make the state “hot” for them. (NAN)
