Nigeria Union of Journalists salutes Governor Idris rescue mission progress in Kebbi

The National leadership of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, (NUJ), has described Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State as a role model and shining example of good governance, delivering the dividends of democracy to his people.
The National President, Comrade Alhassan Yahaya Abdullahi stated this when he led members of the Central Working Committee of the Union on a courtesy visit to the Governor at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, on Wednesday.
“Our Comrade Governor is working, NUJ has given him a pass mark of 100/100%, I am branding him, ‘Governor without border’, we shall continue to support you. NUJ is grateful to you for sponsoring our inaugural meeting of the NUJ Central Working Committee in Kebbi”, the NUJ President remarked.
He identified landmark projects of Governor Idris to include the provision of fuel dump at the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport, Birnin Kebbi, for smoother air transport, digitalisation of the state media houses as well as the reconstruction of Federal Dabai-Mahuta-Koko road amongst many others.
A member of the CWC, National President of the National Association of Women Journalists, (NAWOJ), A’isha Ibrahim, in an overview of the projects members visited testified that, Governor Idris had performed satisfactorily in urban and rural transformation of Kebbi State especially by turning it into a rice hub of the country.
In his response, Governor Idris said: “I am on a rescue mission. The development you are witnessing is just the beginning, my administration has commenced the modernization of the state capital side by side the transformation of other urban centres and rural dwellings”.
He said his administration had recorded massive achievements in all sectors of the economy without forgetting the comfort of workers both serving and retired, stressing that:”very soon I will flag off another round of free fertilizer distribution, while 250 truckload of assorted food items have been procured for distribution for the forthcoming Ramadan”.
Governor Idris described the visit of NUJ National Executives to Kebbi as historic, being the first union he hosted in 2025, pointing out that cordiality between the government and journalists remained vital for societal progress and good governance.
“I will continue to partner with you to attain the goals of growth and development in all ramifications.Kebbi shall remains Labour Friendly State”, the governor assured.
