Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers honours Professor Nammesan with an award of excellence

Taraba State Commissioner of Agriculture and Food Security, Engr. Prof. Oliver Nammesan has been honored with a prestigious award of excellence in the state.

The Nigerian institution of Mechanical Engineers, a division of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Taraba State chapter presented the award to the commissioner.

While presenting the award, the chairman of the Institution in the state, Dr. Joseph Abutu said the decision to honor him was in recognition of the exceptional contributions and outstanding performance of Prof. Nammesan as commissioner in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.

Dr. Abutu said the commissioner has demonstrated unwavering dedication and commitment to the vision set by Governor Agbu Kefas, focusing on achieving food sustainability and advancing agricultural mechanization in the state.

According to Abutu, innovative strategies and tireless efforts put in place by Prof. Nammesan during the period under review have significantly impacted the agricultural landscape, thereby ensuring food production, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness of farming practices through modern mechanization.

He further pointed out that the commissioner’s numerous initiatives have not only been implemented to empower farmers alone but gears towards promoting sustainable agricultural practices and improving overall food security in the state.

“His ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, including farmers, engineers and government bodies has fostered a supportive environment for agricultural development.

“This award is a testament to Engr. Prof. Nammesan’s exemplary service and the remarkable strides made under his guidance in the agricultural sector. The Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers recognizes his invaluable contributions and stands in solidarity with his ongoing mission to elevate Taraba State’s agricultural capabilities to new heights.

“We celebrate Engr. Prof. Nammesan’s achievements and look forward to witnessing the continued positive impact of his work on the agriculture and food security landscape in Taraba State.

“This accolade not only honors his past accomplishments but also inspires others in the field to strive for excellence in their endeavors,” he stated.

In the response shortly after receiving the award, Prof. Nammesan thanked members of the institution for finding him worthy of the award.

While he thanked God for sustenance, the commissioner said he remained graceful to Governor Kefas whom God has used to locate him as commissioner while dedicating award to the Governor, entire management and staff of the ministry for support and pledged to sustain the tempo.
