Nigerians urged to adhere to COVID-19 protocols, take vaccination jabs as recommended

Though the war against the dreaded Coronavirus is gradually being won, Nigerians have been advised to still adhere to the Covid-19 protocols as recommended by the authority.
The have also been called upon to get vaccinated whenever they have the chance to do so as it posses no harm to those who have already received the first and second jabs of the vaccine because, “our health is in our hands, lets try to maintain a good hand hygiene” .
The advice was given by the Moderator of Antioch Baptist Association, Bauchi, Rev Ezekiel Oyebode on Saturday during the Association in session held at First Baptist Church, Bauchi.
The Clergyman said that, “As the war against Covid 19 is being won, another war is setting in which are, kidnapping and hunger. We need to intensify our prayers as we cry to heaven for divine intervention over senseless killing of human beings by unscrupulous elements in the society”.
Ezekiel Oyebode added that, “Also, we should pray to God to avert hunger and poverty that is looming and trusting God to provide other legitimate means and sources of income to meet the needs of the present time”.
He called on the Church to continue to pray for peace and tranquility in the country stressing that with the spate of insecurity in the country, it is only divine intervention from God that the situation can be overcome saying that, “human efforts have so far failed us but with God, we can overcome”.
He said that, “We pray that both the Pastors and the Church will work together and make the Church to grow and advance the Kingdom of God in that territory in Jesus name” .
He also used the opportunity to thank two Churches in the Association that deemed it fit to organize Five years appreciation service for their Pastors as recommended by the Convention and stressed by the Association’s leadership.
The two Churches are, Goodnews Baptist Church Wuntin Dada and Bethel Baptist Church, Bishi saying, “We really commend these Churches for their courage and tenacity in organizing a befitting appreciation service for their Pastors and we encourage other churches that have not done so to take a leaf by emulating this good and commendable gesture” .
The Moderator then announced that the tenure of the present officers of the Antioch Baptist Association is gradually coming to an end and new leaders that will take over the leadership of the association will be presented to by the Nominating Committee by the next meeting.
“Therefore, I would want us to pray fervently that God will choose for us worthy and visionary leaders that will steer the wheel of progress of the association to an enviable heights in Jesus’ name”, he stressed.
He also called on Baptist members in Nigeria to continue to pray for the new leadership of the Nigerian Baptist Convention for God to give them fresh vision to move the Convention forward to an able height.
Ezekiel Oyebode announced that the 2022 Convention in Session will be hosted by the Oyo conference in Oyo town by race of God saying that, “the Convention theme for next year 2022 is “Entering into ness with Praise and Thanksgiving.” Text: Psalm 100:4, Hymns: BH 491″.
