Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State

A group, Northern Youth For ReNew Nigeria has called on the National Working Committee and all delegates to ensure that they vote for Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike of the People Democratic Party (PDP), as the next president.
In a statement signed by the Yobe State Assistant Publicity of the PDP, Idriss Najeb, which was made available to newsman, started that, their support was based on the fact that Wike fights for the poor and the weak.
He said the group has already endorsed Wike to contest for the President of Nigeria on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party come 2023.
The PDP youths said that Wike remains the best material given the realities of the last presidential polls and current indications in the polity
According to the statement, the sterling leadership qualities and developmental strides of the Rivers State Governor and after a careful prognosis of the political situation in the country, characterised by high-level insecurity across board, rising banditry, the proliferation of secessionist groups currentl tyhreatening the very fabric of our national unity.
Idriss described the choice of Wike was due to his incredible pedigree, experience and resumé. Wike is respected and widely accepted, especially in the north where he is only second to President Buhari in terms of followership.
The statement read, “Against the background of the clarion call and passionate expectation of Nigerians for good and enduring leadership; having been dissatisfied with the rudderless leadership provided by the APC in the last seven years, resolved amongst other issues, to call on leadership of the PDP to present a man with character and content as flag-bearer for the party’s presidential ticket in 2023 in order to further strengthen the faith of the people in the Nigerian polity.
He said that, “we are looking beyond our region in the North East and travel far away to Rivers State to identified ourselves with Wike believing that he has all he requisite experience to advance the course of the PDP and sustaining it Jains and securing the future.
He added that the PDP leader will sustain infrastructural strides, economic reforms and other remarkable legacies of the president.
Idriss said that, “I believe that Wike will offer an open doors policy and I will keep to the promises to be made in the course of our electioneering campaign coming soon in all the geopolitical zones of the country. I pledge to support his initiative according to the overwhelming support he received from members of the PDP particularly the stakeholders”.
