Olakunrin, 1st African female Chartered Accountant, a remarkable amazon – Gbenga Daniel
The late Chief (Mrs) Olutoyin Olakunrin has been described as a remarkable amazon and one of the outstanding Nigerian women in recent history.
In his condolence message on Monday on the passing of the renowned accountant, distinguished administrator and entrepreneur, the former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel said late Olakunrin was a woman of awesome attributes, quintessential professional and an intellectual of global repute who excelled in male dominated fields during her glorious career.
In the message by his Media Officer, Ayo Giwa, Otunba Daniel, said her sterling contributions especially in the economic sector and women empowerment schemes were enormous.
He also said her exceptional managerial acumen and unique diligence stood her out as a shining star among her contemporaries with rewarding accolades and international honours.
According to him, “she stepped out of her chosen career to contribute her quota to the political development of the country when she served as a member of the Constituent Assembly that drafted the 1979 Constitution.”
