The Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr Akindele Adekunle has asked aspirants contesting in today’s state and national assembly primary election to allow loyalty to the party dictate their conduct during and after the election.
Dr Akindele particularly enjoined leaders of the party in all the constituencies to ensure peace and tranquility during the election, adding that party leaders have today as ample opportunity to live and prove their commitment to overall objective of the party, by ensuring the primary elections are conducted in an atmosphere devoid of rancor or divisive tendencies.
According to the chairman, “All aspirants, as we have always maintained, are assured of a level playing ground and it is therefore expected that whoever emerge across the Constituencies are true reflections of overwhelming choice of party delegates.
“Such choices should therefore be embraced by all and sundry as a matter of team project in the interest of the good people of our dear state” Dr Akindele said.
It would be recalled that the PDP national working committee had scheduled today 22nd of May, 2022 for the conduct of State Assembly and House of Representatives primary elections across the country.
