The front runner for the position of substantive National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), His Excellency, Dr. Phillips Omeiza Salawu, FCA, has visited the former Deputy National Chairman (South), Chief Olabode George, ahead of the party’s selection exercise.
The visit was part of Dr. Salawu’s consultation with the party’s critical stakeholders across Nigeria in his quest for the Number 1 position of the party.
Dr. Salawu paid the visit to the Retired Naval-General, Chief Olabode George, a Principal Stakeholder from the South-West Geo-Political zone, and a former military Governor of Ondo State at his Abuja residence on Wednesday, 19th June 2024.
The pioneer Director of Finance of the PDP and a former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Dr. Salawu has been consulting with party leaders in Nigeria ahead of the party’s selection of a substantive National Chairman, a portfolio that has currently been constitutionally zoned to the North Central Geo-Political Axis in the Party’s existing Balance of Power Arrangement.

The other member of the Campaign team standing with their Excellencies is Alhaji Aminu Yakudima, a former National Director of Administration at the PDP National Secretariat and was the Chief of Staff to H.E, Okwy Nwodo when the latter was the PDP National Chairman.
Dr. Salawu had earlier consulted with former Jigawa State Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Sule Lamido, the former Kano State Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Ibrahim Shekerau, and the former Senate President, His Excellency, David Mark amongst other PDP chieftains.
He is expected to consult other respected party stakeholders from other parts of the country in the coming weeks.
