Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III joined his forebears Saturday morning
I received the news of the passage of our total father, Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola, Adeyemi III with sadness and shock. Kabiyesi was an exemplary royalty, who used his revered throne to advance the progress of his people, town, and the entire Yoruba race.
His transition is an irreparable loss to the Yoruba race, knowing well Oba Olayiwola’s depth of contributions to the promotion of Yoruba culture and his uncompromising stance for the protection of Youtube interest within the federatio.
While I mourn this big loss, I also honour the late monarch’s life full of service for the people of Oyo town, Yoruba race and Nigeria as a whole. I have no doubt that he will be remembered for the physical transformation that his sphere of influence was able to bring to Oyo town. His legacy of impacting lives will linger forever.
On behalf of the entire Adeleke family of Edeland, I offer heartfelt condolence to the late monarch’s family, the Oyo Mesi -in- Council, and the people of Oyo town at home and abroad over the transition of Oba Olayiwola. As Yoruba culture infers, it is my prayer that he rests well as he joined his forefathers.
