Less than 24 hours to the Presidential Primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), one of the top contenders for the ticket, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa has expressed strong confidence in the Convention Planning Committee headed by former Senate President, Send. David Mark.
Ohuabunwa who spoke in Abuja ahead of the convention also expressed strong optimism that he will pick the ticket to fly the party’s flag in the 2023 general elections.
The technocrat-turned politician brushed aside insinuations that he is no match to other big names in the race for the sole ticket of the party going into the elections.
Ohuabunwa stated that he was very prepared for the challenge of leading Nigeria and transforming it to a nation that works for all.
“I have traversed the country, meeting the ordinary Nigerians and feeling their pains and I am further encouraged by their desire and support for the birthing of a new Nigeria”, he further stated.
He described as unacceptable a situation whereby with all the abundant human and material resources, Nigeria is known as the poverty capital of the world where over 71 per cent of it’s population are living below the poverty line and 53 per cent of it’s youthful population unemployed.
He assured Nigerians that he has the blueprint to change the story of Nigeria and turn the country into an investment destination.
According to the former President of Nigeria Employers Consultative Association (NECA), “under my watch, the story will no longer be about the potential of Nigeria but the story of Nigeria living out it’s potentials to the maximum benefit of all citizens”
Ohuabunwa, therefore urged the PDP delegates to give him the mandate to fly the party’s in the forthcoming elections as he remains the best of all the contenders for the ticket.
He expressed strong confidence that the David Mark led Convention Committee would organize a credible and transparent primaries.
