Plateau Governor, Mutfwang declares curfew on Mangu as attackers go on killing spree

Few days after Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang was celebrated by his people because of his recent victory at the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Mangu, his local government area woke up to a deadly attack with uncountable casaulties for now.
After an assessment of the early mornings attacks with severe devastation Tuesday, a declared 24 hour curfew on the Local Government with immediate effect.
As at the time of putting in this report, siurces in the area said, most of the areas in the headquarters of the council have been deserted by the few surviving inhabitants as no help came timely while the marauders attacked and killed them.
The cause of the attack was still unknown and tension is still high within the entire local government and it’s environs.
However, in announcing the curfew declaration whch was signed by the director of press, Gyang Bere, the Governor warned that “only persons on essential duties are allowed to move within the Local Government area until further notice”
He urged all citizens, especially residents of Mangu Local Government area, to comply with the directive and assist the security personnel by providing reliable information to restore peace and order in the area.
He lamented that some people are still determined to create an atmosphere of insecurity in the state, despite the government’s efforts to end the activities of terrorist elements.
The expressed his sympathy to the families of the victims and the injured, and assured them that the government will not relent in ensuring lasting peace in the state. He promised that the curfew will be reviewed as soon as the security situation improves.
