An endless search for solution to the catastrophic events resonating in diverse places of nations and regional blocs are unavoidably becoming more worrisome to mankind as Nigeria takes the center stage.
Nigeria, a nation once hailed as a beacon of hope and prosperity in West Africa and by extension to the African continent is now teetering on the brink of collapse. The nation’s descent into chaos is a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of poor governance, corruption and economic mismanagement.
The situation is critical affecting the general wellbeing of her citizenry and the ecosystem. No ready approach to solutions of the mirage of problems. Hence all attempts made are merely exacerbating the fears of the people.
It is a scenario where true governance is at the verge of being destroyed, creating chaos, unrest, and a breakdown of societal order and traditional value system, which of course, are triggered by factors such as the inapplicability of good governance, sound economic policies propounded by renowned economic theorists whose pontifications are tested and trusted in other climes.
This fascinating moment is not without the possibility of witnessing a dramatic turn of events that could reshape Nigeria through divine intervention.
Globally, there are numerous political instability recorded in recent decades erupting from various degrees of protests, or conflicts as a result of a breakdown in governanment activities. This issue must be addressed, as the conspiracy theory unravels the intriguies in politics.
It cannot be ruled out that in the face of imminent constitutional crisis having a severe challenge to the rule of law, democratic institutions, or the separation of powers are electoral upheavals leading to disputed or contentious outcome of such elections. It is no doubt, an obvious recipe for violence or unrest fueled by external forces.
Our contemporary society is usually characterized as a complete failure of government functions due to corruption or incompetence.
Noticeable resultant effects of ideological polarization are witnessed in the extreme divisions and gridlock, making it impossible to find common ground to govern effectively.
In compounding this problem is the forces backed by external intervention. Foreign interference and forceful invasion of territorial integrity can easily compromise the nation’s sovereignty and political structures.
Evidently, the dependence for survival of Nigeria and even other developing nations are at the beck and call of the superpower nations who dictates and directs the affairs of these less privileged nations; painfully accepted by the government to the detriment of the people.
The systemic failure is such a fundamental flaw in the political system of the third world countries like Nigeria where some possible causes of a political apocalypse are seen in the full display of corruption by government officials ably aided and guided by private business tycoons.
The desperation to become rich quickly is another luring aspect that encourages economic instability, inequality and social injustice in Nigeria.
This prevailing circumstances are found in every transactorial dealing of the rich disparaging the poor, showing-off the class of people they are made of, as well as, the ethnic group they belong and/or their religious background.
Beyond the individual status distinguished by their corruptly enriched profiles, is the collective activities of both the rich and the poor impacting on nature.
As the environmental disasters or resource depletion couple with technological disruptions are linked to human conducts, the apocalypse spoken about will not abate insofaras the struggle for survival continues.
Relating this situation with globalization and cultural clashes are failures and power vacuums that requires good leadership with the fear of God Almighty to successfully stem the tide.
In confronting the dire consequences of
government collapse, humanitarian crisis, social unrest and violence, refugee crises, conflicts, loss of democratic values and freedoms, which are long-term damages we must all avoid and learn how to abide in love and cohabit harmoniously.
The symptoms are offshoot in the widespread insecurity and terrorism attacks on innocent citizens as rampant corruption and impunity are increasingly surfacing threatening the very fragile democratic framework of the nation.
The economic stagnation and poverty, ethnic and sectarian tensions, are all the root causes of this complex crisis.
Consequences of inaction are also dire as killings and displacement of people are common occurrences.
Even amidst the chaos, there is a glimmer of hope. Nigeria with resilient citizens can foster good governance and engender Godfearing leaders to drive the process.
To avert this Political Apocalypse, Nigeria must embrace radical governance reforms and accountability to
Include other good policies suitable for the nation.
The time for action is now. Nigeria’s future hangs in the balance. Will the nation succumb to the forces of chaos, or will it rise from the ashes, reborn and renewed? The choice is clear.
