Nasarawa United continued with their impressive Pre-season performance with a 3-0 spanking of Zaki Mai Riga Football Academy at the New Jos Stadium, Plateau State, on Tuesday evening.
Chinedu Ohanachom began the onslaught in the 2nd Minute of the first-half after he tapped-in from close range a cross from Abubakar Abdullahi.
Shortly after, rising sensation, Nentaka Bangs, doubled the lead from twelve yards following a handball inside the box.
As the Gombe-based opponents were trying to recover from the shock, another youngster, Emmanuel Ogbole, pounced on a cheeky pass from the far right courtesy of Suleiman Akoza to give the Coach Bala Nikyu’s side a 3-0 cushion heading into the break.
Upon resumption for the second-half, Zaki Mai Riga tried to weather the storm, and made series of attempts to reduce the deficit, and almost got rewarded through Yuga Abdulkareem and Sani Oscar but for the consciousness of goalkeeper, Danlami Umar, and water-tight United defence.
Though the Solid Miners pressed harder in search of more goals, it was an effort in futility as the entertaining game ended 3-0 in favour of the Lafia-based side.
It was the Solid Miners’ third consecutive victory since arriving in Jos for their Pre-Season camp.
In their previous results, United thrashed Tudun-Wada Football Academy 3-0 before sending off stubborn Rahbam FC 3-1 on Sunday, 6th November, at same venue.
The team is bracing up for the visit of fellow Nigeria Professional Football League side, Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi in a Grade ‘A’ clash by 4pm on Wednesday, 9th November, 2022, at the New Jos Stadium, Plateau State, with a return leg in Bauchi on Thursday, 10th November, 2022.
