Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu has been commended for upholding and abiding with the country’s 1999 Constitution as amended by ensuring that he submitted the list of ministerial nominees within the 60 days provision.
The commendation was made by a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State, Rt. Hon. Shu’aibu Abubakar Isma’il Rahama.
Rahama, a former Deputy Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly also hailed President Tinubu for keeping to the provision of the relevant laws by choosing his cabinet Minister’s within the stipulated 60 days from the date he was sworn-in into office.
While speaking with selected journalists on Sunday, he said that, “First and foremost, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserved commendation for adhering to the 60 days allotment from the date he was sworn-in within which to pick his Ministers into the services of Government of the Federation”.
The former Bauchi State acting Vice Chairman of the APC while commenting on the timely nomination of Ministers by President Bola Tinubu, recalled that it took the immediate past President, Muhammadu Buhari six consecutive months to form a cabinet, only to appoint mostly incapable persons into ministerial positions.
According to him, “So, Bola Ahmed Tinibu who was opportuned to become the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has within the stipulated period been able to settle for those he considered credible persons as ministerial nominees subject to the confirmation of the Nigerian Senate.”
He also commended President Tinubu for nominating Professor Ali Pate as cabinet Minister.
Rahama then drew the attention of those against the appointment of Professor Ali Pate as Minister of the federal republic of Nigeria to mindfully consider that power belongs to God, Who gives it to whoever he likes, and likewise takes it away from Whoever he wishes.
He described Professor Pate as a versatile Nigerian with vast experiences in various fields of human endeavours, and a globally recognized person who competently worked in world bodies such as Paris Club, IMF, World Bank, and Global Vaccine Alliance to mention only a few.
The APC Chieftain expressed optimism that the appointment of Professor Ali Pate as minister of the federal republic of Nigeria would be a blessing not only to the people of Bauchi state and Nigeria, but indeed globally, having had unlimited connections across the world.
