President Tinubu not anti-north- Minister, Reps Member tell Kebbi mega rally

Thousands of All Progressives Congress (APC) faithful stormed the Haliru Abdu Stadium, Birnin Kebbi, on Wednesday, in a massive support for President Bola Tinubu and Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris at the instance of “We Stand with Tinubu, We Stand with Kaura” group.

In his addrrss, the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu, debunked insinuations that some policies and programmes of the Tinubu-led administration were inimical to northern interests.

“North is an important part of Nigeria. President Tinubu has amicable relations with all sections of the nation. Before now, Asiwaju has supported many northern candidates to clinch the presidency, such as late Umar Yar’adua and the immediate past president, General Muhammadu Buhari.

“I am part and parcel of his economic team, President Tinubu always works for the good of Nigeria, he’s tirelessly striving to make the country great. Asiwaju believes in reality, he’s determined to unlock the potentials of all sections of the country”, he explained.

On the same pedestal, the member, House of Representatives, Suru/Bagudo Federal Constituency, Hon. Bello Ka’oje, dismissed insinuations that President Tinubu was anti-North, saying his projects had benefitted the region In the areas of roads construction, economic empowerment and agricultural production.

The legislator appreciated the performance of Kebbi Governor, Nasir Idris, in human capacity development, infrastructure and improving the socioeconomic wellbeing of his people stressing that: “These traits endeared him into the hearts of the citizens who organised this massive support rally for him and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu”.

Addressing the mammoth crowd, Governor Idris, thanked the people for their sustainable support and loyalty to his administration, “I am renewing commitment to serve you better, and affirm Kebbi support 100% to President Tinubu”.

Governor Idris further said:”The essence of democracy is about performance, Asiwaju has performed creditably to serve Nigeria and offer the necessary support to Kebbi to attain growth, his indelible landmark is glaring. Kebbi remains solely APC State as well as solidly in support and cooperation with President Tinubu”

A member of the House of Representatives, Chief John Abiodun Falake, expressed delight about the massive support for President Tinubu and Governor Nasir Idris by the people of Kebbi State.

At the rally, former deputy Governorship candidate of the PDP in the 2023 elections in Kebbi, Isma’ila Salihu Bui, announced his return to the APC, and also informed the gathering about the formal defection of his master, Senator Muhammad Adamu Alieru from the PDP to the APC.
