President Tinubu salutes security operatives in Kebbi for dismantling Lakurawa terrorists

The Minister of Defence, Muhammad Abubakar Badaru, has conveyed the gratitude of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the Military in Kebbi State for their valour and steadfastness in surmounting the menace by Lakurawa bandits in the state.
Badaru held closed door consultations with the military command at the 1 Battalion, Nigerian Army, Dukku Barracks, Birnin Kebbi, prelude to meeting with Governor Nasir Idris, at the Government House, on Thursday.
Afterwards, the Defence Minister, told Journalists that, President Tinubu had sent him with the message of ‘thank you’ to the troops in Kebbi for their impactful operations.
“The President is appreciative of what the troops are doing in the country to expel insecurity. We are here to motivate them to do more, to deal decisively with Lakurawa and flush them out completely”, the Minister revealed.
He further stated that: “The military leadership has vowed not to rest on its oars until the menace of banditry is nullified in all ramifications. The security landscape has improved in Kebbi and Nigeria, President Tinubu is determined to ending insurgency and bandits activities”.
Badaru added that he was in Kebbi State with expanded team of security experts from the office of the National Security Adviser to reappraise the situation holistically.
He commended Governor Nasir Idris for reversing the hitherto security challenges in some parts of the state to normalcy, which enabled farmers to return to farming unhindered without fear of the unknown.
“Kebbi has remained safe. We are aware that Comrade Nasir Idris is highly committed to security matters. I know the situation in Kebbi prior to his ascension to power with regards to insecurity. The state has completely transformed into a 9safer place, that’s why I featured him during my Press Briefing in Abuja, explaining the achievement recorded by his administration to secure Kebbi”, he said.
