President Bola Tinubu has been urged to emulate Nigerian founding fathers by providing free education from primary to secondary school levels because most parents are poor.

The immediate past acting chairman of Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF ), Alhaji Musa Liman Kwande said in Lafia that, “As a father and grandfather, I am appealing to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu to kindly emulate the trait of the founding fathers of Nigeria like Sir Ahmadu Bello, Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Chief Nnamdi Azikiwe by providing free education from primary to secondary school level to the terming youth that God has blessed this country with.

“The manifesto of the President has included empowering the youth to be good citizens, self reliant and future leaders, which is a very good policy plan for the growth and development of the country.

“I am requesting the President to consider education and skills acquisition for the youth to be both educated and be self- employed as a means to reduce youth restiveness, vices and crimes”. He said.

Alhaji Kwande who holds the traditional title of Barade (Generalismo) of Lafia in Nasarawa State, calls on the President and National Assembly to make a law for the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, (JAMB) to make its examination valid for a lifetime instead of one year because of the economic downturn affecting the people.

Alhaji Kwande said it is worrisome how some universities also organized post-JAMB examination, while many universities all over the world just prefer School Leaving certificate or West African Examination Council, (WAEC ) and National Examination Council (NECO).

It could be recalled that he elder statesman had recently called on the federal government to scrap JAMB or for it to make its examination valid for at least three years.
