Son of the former Governor of old Kaduna State, late Alhaji Abdulkadir Balarabe Musa, Kasimu Balarabe Musa has lost the Peoples Redemption Party’s, (PRP) primary election for House of Representatives for Kaduna North Local Government to Adamu Idris.
The primary election was held at the Kaduna State office off the party, on Constitution Road, near Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
Adamu Idris polled 53 votes while Kassim scored 5 votes.
60 delegates were accredited, 58 voted and 2 were invalid.
Both Adamu Idris and Kasimu Balarabe Musa are new comers in mainstream politics.
It could be racalled that late Alhaji Abdulkadir Balarabe Musa was the Governor of Kaduna State under the banner of the PRP in 1979 in the second republic.
PRP which was an offshoot of Northern Peoples Union, ( NEPU ) in the first republic, it campaign for equity and detest money politics.
Adamu Idris said, ” I am happy with the conduct of the election, as it was done on political interest and not as other political parties engage in money politics to induce delegates.”
Adamu Idris will campaign for votes as the candidate of the PRP, while Samaila Suleman will campaign under the banner of the PDP and son of Governor Nasir El-Rufai, Bello El-Rufai will campaign under the banner of APC.
