Reactions trail killing of Onitsha bizman Nwokolo

The death of one Mr. Ndubisi Nwokolo from Umunede, Delta State and a trader in Onitsha Main Market has continued to elicit reactions from the traders.
The traders were sad over the death of the young man and the circumstances surrounding his dimise.
According to the report, Mr.Ndubisi Nwokolo aged 38 was said to be on his way to the market that faithful morning when he met his death.
Narrating the incident to our correspondent, his neighbour Onyeka Anwadike stated that the late Ndubisi Nwokolo was allegedly beaten up by one Ikanda the leader of some touts at Bida Road when the said Ikanda and his men intercepted the Okada conveying the victim to his shop at Onitsha Main Market.
According to Lady Anwadike, Mr. Ndubisi Nwokolo was allegedly taken to their office at Odoakpu where he was beaten to death by the said group.
Some of the traders who spoke off record, regretted the death of Mr. Ndubisi while calling on the state government to take appropriate steps towards curtailing the excesses of all groups in the state.
All effort made to contact the DPO at Onitsha Main Market Police Station, Joy Elem-Okoh who referred our correspondent to the Police Public Relation Officer, Mr. Haruna Mohammed at Awka.
The Police PRO who confirmed the incident in a press release dully signed by the Police Commissioner, stated that the late Ndubisi Nwokolo was killed with wood and matches at no 21 Otumoye Street, Odoakpu, Onitsha by one Ikanda and others who were at Large.
The statement further stated that the incident triggered a peaceful demonstration by some youths at the market which the police patrol team was able to quell peacefully.
According to the release, the command assured the public that it will leave no stone unturned until perpetrators of the crime are brought to book.
Meanwhile, the remains of the late Mr. Ndubisi Nwokolo have been deposited at a mortuary.
