Remo Stars FC force Niger Tornadoes FC to 0-0 draw

Visiting Remo Stars Football Club of Sagamu on Wednesday held Niger Tornadoes FC of Minna to a 0-0 draw in the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in Minna.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the game played at the Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium was a Match Day 4 in the Group A of the competition.
NAN also reports that Niger Tornadoes performed well, especially with their fans roaring them on, but they failed to convert many scoring chances to goal.
The Remo Stars defenceline refused to bow to pressure throughout the match.
Coach Kennedy Boboye of Remo Stars later told newsmen that they had a good game and the officiating was alright.
“The officiating was good and my boys gave a good account of themselves, in spite of playing against a Tornadoes side which is equally a good side on their own ground,’’ he said.
Boboye then urged his players not to underrate any club they would encounter in subsequent matches to enable them get good results.
He added that the club’s management would soon beef up the team in order to get better results before the end of the league.
“We have to get more professional players to beef up the team to enable us get positive results before the end of the league.’’
Similarly, Victor Mbaoma, the captain of Remo Stars, expressed happiness over their draw with Niger Tornadoes.
However, Gwaza Ioliam of Niger Tornadoes, who was named the Man of the Match, said he was not happy with the outcome of the game.
“We failed to convert many scoring chances that came our way during the match, in spite of all our good performance.
“The match was not a good one for us today, though we prepared very well for it. But it will spur us to work hard ahead of our next match,’’ he said.(NAN)
