The Northern Youths Progressive Network said the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu has successfully coordinated the nation’s security apparatus, consisting the Army, Airforce, Police, DSS, NSDC, Immigration, Hunters, and indigenous non-formal security vanguards.

Bala Mohammed, the convener of the Network made the statement in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.

He explained that the synergy has brought a lot of successes in tackling the complex security challenges plaguing the country, particularly in the Northern region, the south south and the South East, which are hotbeds of insurgency, banditry, herders/farmers clashes, crude oil theft and separatist agitation.

His words, “Under his leadership, several high-profile bandit and terrorist leaders have been neutralized, including Halilu Sububu, Buhari Alhaji Halidu, Dangote, Boderi Isyaku, Kachalla Dan Chaki Dogo Gudali, Damina, Baleri, Modi-Modi, and Husseini Usman.

“Furthermore, his tenure has seen the successful rescue of high-profile kidnap victims, such as the 20 medical students of the University of Maiduguri.

Additionally, the convener of the northern group noted the recent arrest of IPOB’s self-acclaimed leader, Simon Ekpa, in Finland was made possible through effective collaboration with the interpol.

“He is presently tackling the deep-seated corruption in Nigeria’s financial sector, specifically focusing on the Central Bank of Nigeria, which was previously led by the embattled former Governor Godwin Emefiele.

“This efforts aim to restore transparency and integrity to the nation’s financial system.”

The group’s leader, however, maintained that Ribadu’s expertise in law enforcement, community engagement, and internal security measures, during his time as Assistant Commissioner of Police and pioneer chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has been invaluable in addressing Nigeria’s security challenges.

According to him, the NSA has stressed the importance of intelligence gathering and inter-agency synergy, fostering a more cohesive approach to national security.

“His background as a former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has equipped him with a keen insight into the interplay between security and corruption, allowing him to advocate for policies that address the root causes of insecurity.

“Ribadu’s achievements include the implementation of comprehensive security strategies that prioritize community engagement and the empowerment of local security forces.

“He has also been instrumental in enhancing Nigeria’s international security partnerships, seeking support and collaboration from global allies to combat transnational threats,” Mohammed stated.
