Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District Simon Lalong has congratulated Monsignor Prof. Cletus Gotan on his appointment and inauguration as Board Chairman of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission.

Senator Lalong says he received the news with great delight as Monsignor Cletus Gotan is eminently suitable for the appointment with his vast experience as a clergyman and track record of excellence in previous assignments within and outside the Church.

Lalong said he has absolute confidence that the Board Chairman will deliver on his mandate with honesty, dignity and value, given his deep understanding of spiritual matters and the prominent role he has played in promoting the Christian faith in Nigeria and the world particularly through education.

Senator Lalong expressed hope that pilgrimage exercises under the new dispensation will not only be enhanced in experience and organisation, but also deepened to impact the nation and its citizens.

He recalled that under his tenure as Governor of Plateau State, Prof. Gotan was very instrumental in reviving the fortunes of the College of Education Gindiri when he was appointed Interim Administrator.

While wishing him and other members of the Board well in their new assignment, Lalong assured them that he will personally support them in their activities and also ensure that they get legislative backing to deliver on President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
