Senator Lalong greets Gbong Gwom Jos Da Jacob Gyang Buba on 73rd birthday

Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District Simon Bako Lalong has congratulated the Gbong Gwom Jos, His Royal Majesty Da Jacob Gyang Buba on his 73rd birthday.

Lalong described the traditional ruler as a man of integrity, peace and tolerance whose message of unity has continued to resonate across the nation.

According to Senator Lalong, the Gbong Gwom who is the Chairman of the Plateau State Council of Traditional Rulers and Emirs has always preached and advocated for matters that promote equity, justice and fairness across ethno-religious and cultural lines.

He recalls the role that the revered traditional ruler played during his tenure as Governor of Plateau State and Chairman, Northern Governors Forum where he joined many of his counterparts in canvassing for greater role for traditional rulers in tackling some of the nation’s challenges.

The Senator said such support has given him the impetus to continue to push for the passage of the Bill on establishing the National Council for Traditional Rulers which has scaled first reading at the Senate.

While wishing the royal father many more years of good health and greater accomplishments, Senator Lalong urged him to continue to work with all stakeholders particularly his Constituency in admonishing Nigerians to uphold good virtues and worthy values that will enable the nation attain greater heights.
